Our Staff

Aerosafe Africa Consultants are an aviation operations and safety consultancy registered in Kenya and operating in the East and Central African region and beyond. We provide expertise to the highest standards of service to its clients either on a ‘one time basis’ or as an ongoing program tailored to the needs of the client. Our consultants are experienced and reputable East African aviation professionals with a wealth of experience in Scheduled Airline, General Aviation, Aircraft Maintenance and Relief Operations in Africa.

Nduati H. Njama
Senior Consultant
The founder of Aerosafe Consultants, Nduati Njama has over 35 years of experience in the aviation industry which includes 24 years as a pilot in an international carrier. He is a qualified pilot and flight instructor with over 14,000 hours of flight time. He has experience as a safety officer and is a trained accident investigator. He has several years of experience in operations inspections and audits having worked in several African countries. He holds an MSc in Aviation Safety Management from City University London.
Latimer Mwaniki
General Manager/Consultant
A retired Air Force Captain, Latimer has sound training in Air Operations Management as well as Project Management. He is a qualified Air Force and Civil Air Traffic Controller. With over 30 years experience in aviation he has worked as an air transport officer for United Nations missions. He has also been an operations director of a medium-sized charter company providing relief operations in the East African region. He holds an MBA Aviation Option from Moi University, Kenya.
Ellis N. Mungai
A highly experienced pilot with over 20,000 hours Ellis Mungai has over 35 years experience in the aviation industry. He is an active qualified flight instructor and authorized examiner and is also a qualified Air Traffic Controller. He has sound air operator management experience having worked as a Chief Pilot and Director of Flight Operations for medium sized operators in the region. He holds a Masters degree in Air Transport Management.
Stanley M. Kibunja
Stanley is a qualified Aircraft Maintenance Engineer and an Airworthiness Consultant. He is licensed on a wide range of aircraft from training aircraft to large jet aircraft. He worked in a major international airline over 25 years in various capacities including being a Fleet Planning Engineer and Principle Reliability Engineer. He later worked with a Civil Aviation Authority as a senior Airworthiness Inspector. He is currently an Airworthiness Consultant and has undertaken several successful projects for countries in the SADC region under a European consultancy for implementation of a European Union Technical Assistance support project for Civil Aviation Authorities.
Pauline Ng’ang’a
Pauline is a trained IATA Instructor and world class operations team leader trainer. She has successfully led teams in Ground Services and Cargo in certification and re-certification of IOSA (IATA Operations Safety Audit) and ISAGO (IATA safety audit ground operations) since 2006. Pauline has versatile and skilled quality standards and procedures with excellent hands-on experience in developing, improving and implementing quality systems in airline ground operations management. She is also a qualified and experienced Quality Management Systems trainer.
Fredrick A. Opot
Fredrick is an aircraft engineer and flight safety consultant with over 35 years in the field of continuing airworthiness. He has working experience in airline, approved maintenance organization as well as civil aviation authority. Has undergone extensive training and engagement in quality management and aircraft accident investigation at senior management levels and is intimately conversant with the industry in the East African region. He is a Fellow of Royal Aeronautical Society and a past Chairman of the Aeronautical Society of Kenya.
Edward Jumi
Edward is a qualified IOSA auditor with extensive experience in Safety Management Systems, Quality Management Systems and Flight Data Analysis. He is currently working as a Safety and Quality Manager for a small air operator in Kenya. He previously worked for an international airline as a Flight Data Analyst where he successfully set up an In-house Flight Data Analysis programme, at the time being the only such programme in the East, West and Central African regions and only one of a few in the African continent to date. Edward holds a BSc. Information Technology from the Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology, Kenya.
Vincent A. Oyaro
Vincent is an experienced safety practitioner specialised in the areas of Safety Management and Emergency Response. He is currently working as an Operations Officer with an international organisation. Vincent previously worked with an international airline for over 8 years in the Safety department as a Safety and Quality Officer as well as a Flight Data Analyst. He is an experienced operations and safety auditor. Amongst other qualifications, Vincent holds a BSc in Mathematics and Computer Science from Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology in Kenya and an Aerospace MBA from ESC Toulouse Business School in France.
Alfred O. Ocheyo
Alfred Ocheyo has extensive airline experience in warehouse, cargo and flight operations with an emphasis on the development and implementation of standard operating procedures that ensure quality service delivery and compliance with civil aviation regulations. He is a Senior Instructor at African Airlines Association and East African School of Aviation. He has training expertise in all categories of DGR category, live animals regulations, perishable handling regulations, cargo skills and procedures, advanced cargo skills & procedures.
Ibrahim Lubanga
Ibrahim Lubanga began his Aviation career in 1996 as a Graduate from the Kenya Utalii College Nairobi before joining Kenya Airways in 1999. In his 15 years of service to Kenya Airways, Ibrahim worked in Customer Services, Ground Handling, Flight Operations Engineering and Flight Operations Training. Ibrahim has an Associate Diploma in Travel Operations, extensive study in all of the performance courses offered at Boeing and Embraer, and currently pursuing Masters in Aviation from the Moi University. Ibrahim holds an FAA Dispatcher Certificate License and is well versed with the IOSA, ISAGO and CAA audit programs for airlines. He is also an experienced flight dispatch international trainer for Jeppesen.
