Flight Operations Officer / Flight Dispatch Initial Course
This course trains students to perform flight dispatch duties efficiently, enhancing safety, minimising incidents and accidents, and supporting smooth operations. Participants will be equipped with the theoretical knowledge and practical skills required to pass the KCAA Flight Operations Officer examinations and meet the required level of operations officer knowledge as per KCARs requirements and relevant industry standards.
Course Objectives
- Demonstrate the level of knowledge and practical skills required to pass the KCAA Flight Operations Officer examinations.
- Pass the Aerosafe FOO trainee exams.
- Apply sufficient aviation operations skills globally within the aviation industry.
- Meet and maintain the required level of operations officer knowledge as per KCARs requirements and relevant industry best standards.
Entry Requirements
- Minimum aggregate pass of C at KCSE or equivalent, with a grade C or equivalent in any three of: Mathematics, English, Physics or Physical Science, and Geography.
- Be at least 18 years of age (subject to licensing limitations of 21 years).
- Ability to read, speak, write and understand the English language.
- In possession of a Certificate of Good Conduct.
- Sufficient knowledge of mathematics and physics to facilitate understanding of the theoretical knowledge content.
- Pass an Aerosafe FOO course entry Aptitude Test.
Practical training requires a minimum three-month internship before the grant of an FOO licence.
